Socks, Socks, Socks!
As the weather turns warmer, it is now time to explore and embrace some smaller, more portable projects. My #1 choice is socks!! We have several great yarns & patterns for socks- from “my first socks” in Woolcotte to summer shorties in our new Lana Mia Cotone to a classic tall sock in Ella Rae Indulgence. Take a look… pick a yarn, pattern, and knitting style… and maybe even join a class to work out the kinks. Socks will make a great portable summery project!
Our teachers are all ready to welcome you- learn to knit socks with double points, 2 circs, or magic loop.
Our Community Knitting and Crochet Group is alive and well and meeting on Mardi’s porch!
Our group as well as many others knit red, white, & blue prayer shawls for veterans. We forward ours to St Luke’s Hospice. They have told us we aren’t supplying enough to fill the need. So if you feel inclined, please knit a shawl or scarf in our patriotic colors to show your gratitude for our veterans’ service. You can use the shawl pattern below that uses just 3 balls of Encore Worsted and large needles. Or try our newest idea: A prayer square! Its something small enough to hold, but can also be used as a coaster. Takes very little yarn- in Fantasy Naturale or Encore Worsted. Download both patterns FREE here.
While Julia is leading us in the knitting of the Anker’s Summer Shirt, I will try to keep up by knitting this Anker’s Pullover for my grandson. Sized from 3 months to 8 years. I will be using Worsted Merino Superwash. Another yarn for this child’s sweater is Berroco Comfort.
Here is my Anker’s Pullover for my grandson.
Yarn is Worsted Merino Superwash.
I had to get ahead of Julia on this cause she is faster then I am!
