Time for Ponchos

Ponchos are basics in our wardrobes. The fact that they are usually easy to knit or crochet makes them very appealing to all of us. So perhaps its time to make a poncho for this fall. It will be a welcome accessory on those chilly autumn walks.

Our New KAL begins Monday

Julia will begin her 2nd KAL on Monday August 3. She has chosen the Butterfly Cowl- a small version of the Papillon. Come pick out your colors (we suggest a DK weight yarn combo such as those shown below) but you can also choose to work this cowl in fingering weight yarns as shown on Jen below.
The pattern is available on Ravelry- you can purchase it from us or on your own. Julia suggests size 5 circular needles for the DK weight yarns.
This is not a Facebook Live or Zoom event, but Julia will post some videos and is available for questions on our Facebook Group Page. She is also available for Help Sessions on Monday. All of our help sessions teachers are also available to help you on this project.
A small version of the Papillon– a large exotic triangular shawl.
If you have dreamed of knitting the Papillon– we suggest you try your hand at this smaller piece first.

Perth for drifting color, and Jawoll for solid color.
We have many additional yarn choices for a wooly cowl.
Here is Julia’s Butterfly Cowl in progress. Took just 2–50 g balls of dk weight cotton.
Julia used 1–50g ball of Degrade Sun- a dk weight drifting color cotton. and 1– 50g ball of Sirdar 100% Cotton- another dk weight cotton in solid colors. Many color combos available as shown below.
Our color guru Jen put together 8 color combo suggestions for the Butterfly Cowl. We have many additional colors available in both yarns: Katia Degrade Sun and Sirdar 100% cotton- both DK weight yarns.
