This Weekend at
The Knitter's Edge

This weekend is the last weekend before Christmas. We hope you will stop by to see us and to maybe do some last minute shopping.  We still have new yarns arriving, and are still coming up with new project ideas.   Watch for new patterns- ones you can do really fast!

If you need help finishing up a project- stop in.  We can help you work though any difficulties.  No, we won't knit it for you, but we will try our best to encourage you and keep you motivated enough to finish in time for gift giving.

We will be closed on Christmas Day and New Years Day.   We will be open all of our regular hours other than those 2 Saturdays.  This means we will be open on Christmas Eve- 9:30 - 4:00 with all regular classes in session.  Please come join us.

Final Week for the Mitten Tree Contest

On Saturday, December 18 we will award prizes in our Mitten Tree Contest.  But even after this weekend, we hope you will continue to bring in handknit mittens for the children at one of our local Elementary Schools- one where the need for warm items is BIG.  We will continue to collect and distribute these mittens through January.  The air is getting quite cold now and those small fingers need warmth.  Please help. If you need patterns- just ask.
UPDATE:  We think we are nearing 100 sets of mittens - a number we didn't think we would reach.  We should all be very proud.  This is a wonderful thing we are doing for these youngsters.
This past week, someone gave us many pairs of mittens- not handknit, but warm just the same.  We were glad to accept them.  If any of you is short on time for knitting a pair, but  wants to donate some store bought mittens- or gloves- we will get them to a needy child.
Our thanks to everyone who has helped in this effort.
I will announce the winners and report the number of mitten pairs sent to the school in next Tuesday morning's newsletter.
You can still get this done...

Yes its getting close to Christmas- but we are still coming up with new ideas.   Here is one quick project that you can get done before the Holiday.
With just one hank of 24K you can knit up a bunch of sparkley bracelets.  The one shown here is the smaller size.  Stop by to try them on!  My thanks to Diana for designing and knitting these up.
