This Week at
The Knitter's Edge
As we really begin to kick Fall knitting into gear I am proud to say that we have been finding and creating a wealth of wonderful patterns for you to try.  The staff at The Knitter's Edge has so many ideas and we are working very hard to get new things knitted up and patterns written for you.  Keep your eyes open for these new creations.  Most are being done with the upcoming holidays in mind so you will have lots of fun knitting to do for others as well as for yourself!
So what's on sale this week???
We are keeping most of the sale yarns on sale this week to give everyone one more chance at them.  We sold completely out of a couple of things this past week,  but we still have many sale items available.
SOCOS- 33% off!
Socos hank
Socos has been added to the line of sale yarns that are spread out on the center floor of the Knitters Edge.
 Socos hat
This bulky weight wool makes a wonderful hat (free pattern available) and warm squooshy gloves.  Amanda knitted herself a pair last winter and pretty much wore them out.  Colors galore- stop by and add just one skein to your stash for a hat or mitts.  Sale priced at 33% off!  It won't last long.
Multiplicity is on sale now at 33% off!
 Multiplicity Scarf

Multiplicity is a very interesting yarn which changes thickness as well as color at intervals.  This allowed us to make this  undulating scarf in 2 sizes-  one and two ball versions.  Get the pattern free at the shop with the purchase of either one ball or two of Multiplicity.  Yarn is on sale this week for 1/3 off!

Encore Boucle (in select colors only)Encore Boucle is also on sale this week- filling the pool to overflowing!  This long time staple makes the most wonderfully soft prayer shawls.  Baby Blankets also knit up quickly with 2 balls or more.  Use the Baby Rimini corner to corner pattern on a size 11 needle.  Get the pattern free in this newsletter.

Since we still need to make room for new yarns, we have moved several closeouts to buckets- center store floor.  Very special low prices are available on these yarns, such as:
Jelli BeenzJelli Beenz: at $3.00 each.  With 1-2 balls of this kid friendly yarn you can knit a pair of socks, 2 balls makes a hat.  The yarn, which is a member of the Encore Family of fine yarns is worsted weight and works up with any Encore pattern (of which there are many).
So come in and pick up a few balls of Jelli Beenz and get some free patterns for some kids' projects.
And remember- if your are a regular class member- you get an additional 10% off of everything.
As always- all sales on closeouts are final.

New classes are here!
Twice a week- every Tuesday night 6:30 - 8:30 with Lisa and every Wednesday Morning 10:00 - 12:00 with Pat.
Marilyn will be here this Thursday evening 6:30 - 8:30 for the kid's knitting class.  She will be joining us on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of each month.
Milly will be at the shop for a lace class on the opposite Thursdays (and for that 5th Thursday).  So September 16th and 30th will be Lace with Milly.
Starting Wednesday, Sept 8, we will have a class to help you with your holiday gift knitting.  Some focus will be on the Countdown to Christmas ideas, but the sharing of other projects ideas will be welcome.  Eileen and JoAnne will be teaching this 4:00 - 6:00 session.
Get a refresher course on sewing up seams with JoAnne on Saturday September 11.
Several other new classes will be added as they are readied.
Countdown to Christmas
Stop in to see our Advent style calendar for our countdown. Each week a new pattern will be presented free for a new gift idea.
Countdown to Christmas!
BookmarksThis week's project is  for Crocheters as well as Knitters.  A lacey  bookmark is a great gift for anyone who reads.  These bookmarks are small and work up fast.  The knitted version is written for Algarve- a beautiful mercerized Egyptian cotton.  The Crochet version, written by one of our customers: Marie Miller; is worked up in #10 crochet cotton.   A heavier yarn will make it larger.  Either could be done in sock yarn as well.
Stop by the shop to get your free pattern containing both designs.
Algarve is an absolutely beautiful cotton yarn by Austermann.  One ball will make up enough bookmarks for the entire family.  It is also a great choice for soap socks.
Highlights of upcoming classes and projects

Fancy Fish with JoAnne
 fancy Fish
This foot long fish is knit in many colors of Encore.  So to make a fun class out of this: I will fill the table with partial balls of Encore and hand each student a bag to fill with enough colors to make the fish.  8 colors are used.  You can bring some odd balls if you have them to throw into the pot.  It will be appreciated.  Cost of this class will be $10.00 and will include the pattern and Encore to knit this guy up.  I will even include the eyes if I can get them.  Just add needles & stuffing.  He is a fast & easy knit so anyone can do this one.
