This Weekend at
The Knitter's Edge
Thanks to all of the people who answered the survey.  We did this because we still have a chance to get tickets for a knit out night at CocaCola Park and we wanted to test the interest level.  We will let you know on Tuesday whether we pulled this off or not.  Keep your fingers crossed.
And I get to do another survey next week- this one will be interesting--a subject that always gets peoples' needles itching- so stay tuned...
What's New?

Nightime Crochet to continue!
I am very happy to announce that Crochet classes on Tuesday nights will continue!
We have a new crochet teacher- Lisa who will keep things going.  Lisa has been attending the past couple of crochet classes to watch what has been going on and is ready to proceed.  She is energetic with many great ideas for crochet projects.
Note:  The hat Lisa is wearing is Week 21's feather & fan hat from The Countdown to Christmas projects.

crochet bagsBesides Joe the Penquin (seen below), Lisa has 2 new small bags to crochet.  Please join Lisa this coming Tuesday- August 3 -- 6:30- 8:30 for her first class!

Also, Pat is now doing a daytime class on Wednesdays from 10:00 - 12:00. All levels of crochetters welcome.

PenquinHere is a simple beginner's project Lisa will be doing- on Tuesday night, and Pat on Wednesday morning.  He is a cute little guy crocheted with worsted weight yarn.
Joe Penguin Kits are assembled and are available for sale.
Other simple crochet projects will appear each week.
Countdown to Christmas
So now to announce my latest project:  Countdown to Christmas!
If we all do just one project a week, we will have 20 or so gifts ready to go by the holidays.  Last year we all started too late, so this year we are getting going earlier.
What I am planning is to have a free pattern available each week for a fast Christmas gift idea.  Some weeks the project will be accompanied by a sale on the designated yarn.  Other weeks there will be a free class available for the project.   By no means do I have all of the projects done yet, and I will admit that some weeks I will be winging it, but I think I can do this and keep up with it for the rest of the year.  Please pray for me... I think I will need it.
So to start things off, I am offering this free pattern for week 21.
This is a ladies beret featuring a feather & fan design.  The beret takes 2 balls of Escape chunky- a bulky weight wool/acrylic blend on sale in our pool this week for only $5.00 each.  Last week we discovered a hidden stash of this yarn so the pool is again overflowing with many colors.
