Milly's scarf
In June, we will have a new teacher joining us for two types of classes.  Milly is a wonderful lace knitter who will be teaching a class on Thursday mornings June 3 & 10 called My First Lace Chart.  In this class you will learn to read simple lace charts while knitting a lovely summer lace scarf.  If all goes well, she will stay with us to teach more advanced lace chart work with a lace shawl. And, since so many have asked me- Yes!! she will teach the My First Lace Chart class at night too- On Tuesdays beginning sometime in June.
But Milly has another talent- she speaks Spanish and is a professional translator.  She has offered to teach a beginning knitters class in Spanish.  We already have 2 new knitters signed up, but we need more.  If you know of anyone who could benefit from this- please let us know.  And now as I promised:  Milly has translated my request for the Spanish speaking would be knitters to join us:
The Knitter's Edge ofrecerá a partir de junio clases EN ESPAÑOL para aprender a tejer a dos agujas (tricot).  Por favor díganos qué día de la semana sería el más conveniente para usted. La clase durará 2 horas y el costo es $6.00.  Nosotros tenemos en la tienda todos los materiales que necesitará, pero si ya tiene sus propias agujas, tráigalas a la clase. Thursday afternoons this summer- WOW
We finally talked her into it!!  Marilyn will be teaching an adult class this summer on Thursday afternoons.  Not sure on the time yet- most likely 1-3 PM.  You all know what Marilyn is capable of when working with the kids- I can only imagine what she will come up with for this adult class!  Stay tuned!!  This is going to be fun!
Thursdays 4:00 - 6:00 PM
Toys with Steph
ElliotOk here is the real finished photo of Elliot, Steph's dragon. He is adorable.  Tonight, I gave him a ride in Laverne & Shirley (remember our new sheep?) and he enjoyed it.
Now what will Steph do next?  mmmmmmmm...
I am still pushing for that Gnome.
Showing off our work

This week- lets see what local students can do
 susan's bunny sweater
Susan, our Intern for the next 2 weeks from Moravian Academy knit this cute sweater for a little bunny.  Nice work Susan.
Teddy Bear for Alex' lemonade
A life skills class at Liberty High School sewed these bears and then dressed them with some help of local knitters.  All are to be sold at Alex's lemonade stand this weekend in the Rose Garden (Bethlehem).  All proceeds will go to Pediatric cancer research.
A REAL 5 hour baby sweater

You all remember the 5 hour baby sweater by Elizabeth Zimmermann- the one that took me 10 hours to knit.  Well now I have one that will REALLY take you only 5 hours to knit- worked on a size 11 needle from the top down-it was fast, and easy.
Llama Cotton Grande sweater
This sweater is available in kit form at the shop.  We made the kits ourselves, and can make more for you- just pick the color.

LLama Cotton Grande is a very soft yarn made of 70% cotton and 30% Llama.  Great for a baby sweater which will take you from Summer into Fall.  I have written this in just one size- 9-12 months.  Knit in one piece from the top down for minimal finishing.

The Kit includes 2 hanks of Llama Cotton Grande, 5 free buttons of our choice, and the pattern.   This is a cute one- you won't want to miss it.  On sale this week for only $17.99 for the Kit- just add needles.

And as an added special- ALL Llama Cotton Grande is on sale this weekend at 25% off!
Our Quiet Day- The Retreat
We now have the final numbers and we will have an outstanding turnout!  You may still join us- you will just need to bring your own lunch.  Here's what we will be doing...
