This Week at
The Knitter's Edge

Its the end of March and your thoughts might be turning to lighter, spring/ summer knitted items.

Amanda has just put out the last of the just received Spring yarns so there are so many new yarns to choose from.   While I was away last weekend (but working hard!!!)  Amanda and some others redecorated the shop with many new display garments.  They are a great way to see what the yarn can do: how it looks, feels, drapes, and knits.

We are open regular hours this week- Friday and Saturday included.

Socks with Eileen
Fingerpaints
Eileen will be starting the new month with a new sock- knit with a brand new yarn by Cherry Tree Hill.  Its called Fingerpaints.  Cheryl Potter- owner & master dyer of CTH has discovered a way to make a self striping handpaint sock yarn.  We have the first products from her dyepots at The Knitter's Edge.  The base yarn is her signature Supersock Select- spun in Peru just for her.
The colorways are new and exciting.  Eileen has chosen Morning Glory- a blend of purples and greens that says Spring all day long!

Washcloths with JoAnne

Flower Power cloth
This week (April 1) we celebrate Spring with a flower wash cloth.   This cloth is knit in pieces ( the 5 petals) which are then connected and knit to the center on a 16" circular followed by double pointed needles.  A good learning experience.  This class will be repeated on Tuesday evening, April 13.  You will need a 16" size 7 or 8 plus double pointed needles in size 7 or 8.  We supply the yarn.

Whats new- Yarns!

Several new yarns have arrived and are now out on the shelves.  These 2 are based on cotton- soft hand with just a hint of shine.

Albero
Albero yarn
Albero Sweater

Albero by Louisa Harding is an absolutely lovely cotton/ Lenpur Viscose blend.  It works up at a worsted weight gauge.  Lovely soft shine from the viscose (rayon) makes it look like silk at a much more reasonable price and with greater washability.
We have brought in a wide color range.  We know this yarn will be a good knit.

This Tunic top for summer is on display at the shop.
