Chemocaps patterns to come

I would like to have you read a recent email we received from Carol Falteich- a knitting customer of ours and a nurse at St Luke's Hospital, Bethlehem, PA.

Last night while working at St. Luke's hospital, my patient was a cancer/chemotherapy patient. She did not want to take off her wig to sleep due to her embarassment, yet the wig was not comfortable for a patient in the Intensive Care Unit. I called over to our PPHP6 floor which is our oncology unit. They usually have hats for the patients donated by individuals. They had only 3 hats left and two were for childeren. My patient was very happy to accept a small black crochet hat which she wore all night instead of her wig.

Ok Knitters- many of us, including myself, live in Bethlehem.  This is our hospital.  This woman could have been our neighbor, our mother, our friend.  We need to step up to the plate and help out here.

St Lukes needs more chemo caps!

I have just finished designing three chemo caps with the help of Linda Jones.  Two are knit, one is crochet. All are to be worked out of Jeannee Worsted- less than 1 ball each.

While I am not advocating a month long challenge like we did for the hats for the homeless, we each need to spend a bit of time making a chemo cap.

Beginning Saturday, I will have a large bucket of Jeannee Worsted- at a very special price- and free patterns for these new chemocaps.  Please help out.  All hats will go to St Lukes.  Carol has offered to deliver them for us.

I know our community will be grateful.
