This Week at
The Knitter's Edge
We are just starting to put out the Spring yarns.  If you need a mid winter break, and a spring like pick me up- stop by and check out some of the new soft pastels.  They will make you think about warmer weather.
We are coming to the last week for the Winter Afghan olympics- more pictures of Afghans in Progress below.
You still have time to join our event.  Knit an afghan and join us on the podium during the medal round.
Some Class News
Steph & my Saturday afternoon technique classes are drawing a lot of attention before they even begin!  The first class- Sewing Up Seams is a very popular (and needed) class.  Please join us.  Learning to properly sew up your sweaters is a definite must that will give a more "finished" look to your projects.
Every other week we will hold another technique class.  The second class- March 13- will involve fixing mistakes, and picking up stitches for bands.  You will get a lot of information out of that class too.  More classes will follow.
We will also take requests  and ideas for technique class ideas.

Highlights of upcoming classes
General Class news:  Due to popular demand- yes we will soon do the Baby Surprise Jacket during a daytime class.  And yes we will do the Tawashi Fish in an evening class (March 9).  And yes- the bunnies won't be alone for Easter- we have ducks and knitted eggs coming too!

Dream Catchers
I have another good idea for this week's washcloth class.  Please bring as many odd & ends as you have in Fantasy Naturale.  These mug rugs are Dream catchers.  You will be able to make at least one- if not 2 in the class time.  What a great way to use up all of those little bits of cotton.
Bring size 7 needles.
Thursday, February 25

Aran Hat

This is a great project- learn to work an aran design (lots of cables) while knitting a hat.  Yarn and pattern at the shop.
Come in to get yarn prior to class as you need to get the ribbing done before class time.-- You can also work on this hat in Linda's Tuesday night class.  Other knitters welcome as well to either class.

I have this outfit finished, and have started a dress for our little teddy.  Come join me.  If you already have your bear- bring him along and more yarn- Jeannee Worsted will be available.  We have more bears if you need one.  Bring size 7 needles, and 4 stitch markers.  We have everything else. This is a great beginner project.  Call to sign up.

Saturday Morning All Beginner's class- Learn with others at the same skill level.  You won't be in this class for long.   Join Eileen on Saturday mornings 10-12.

Easter is coming.  Try knitting this fast & easy design by our own Linda Jones.  This bunny works up well in Comfort- an acrylic-nylon blend from Berroco.  One ball and one class period is all it takes.  And if you need more time- you know we will help you finish.

Technique class with Steph & JoAnne
Learn to proerly finish your sweater by learning to sew up seams.  Bring just a sewing needle.  We have everything else - swatches & yarn all ready to go for you.

Another Free Iro Cowl pattern

Iro Cowl2 
This Iro Cowl uses the same pattern as the Baby Alpaca Grande eyelet cowl- pattern F285
Finished Size: Length 10" x 22" (approx)
Gauge: 3 stitches per inch
Materials:  1 hank Noro Iro, 16" size 11 needles, 1 stitch marker.
One size 13 needle for bind off only. 

With the 16" circular needle, loosely cast on 61 sts.  Place marker and join in the round, taking care not to twist the sts.
Round 1:  K1, *(yo, k2tog); repeat from * around.
Round 2:  Knit.
Repeat rounds 1 & 2 until almost out of yarn, ending with a round 2 and leaving enough yarn for a loose bind off.  Bind off loosely knitwise using a larger needle.  Length will be about 10".
Weave in all ends.
