Highlights of upcoming classes
Tuesday January 19
4:00 - 6:00 PM with Diana
Entre-Lac Cowl
entrelac cowl
This cowl is not like the others you have knitted.  The entrelac work adds so much color it will amaze all who see it.  Bring circulars- size 6 or 7.
Tuesday January 19
6:30 - 8:30 PM with Linda Miller
Baby Surprise Jacket
 Baby Surprise Jacket
The Elizabeth Zimmermann Baby Surprise Jacket is listed in the top 5 most knitted designs, on Ravelry.  This project has indeed been a favorite for many years.  If you have never knit one- you need to.  Just garter stitch, but a lot of learning available here.  Works up wonderfully in our new self striping yarns.  Join Linda- who is a master on this design, having knitted several and instructed many.  Knitted on circular needles- probably size 5 for most.
Wednesday January 20
10:00 - 12:00 PM with Pat
Design your own Sweater
Do you have a sweater that you just love, but it is wearing out, or its in the wrong color?  Join Pat to learn how to design your own, or recreate one.  Make changes to an existing pattern to make it just for you.
Wednesday January 20
4:00 - 6:00 PM with Lynn
SUPER Easy Fingerless Mitts
 Lynn's fingerless gloves
Everyone who came into the shop today stopped and just had to try these on.  They are cute and very easy to knit. One mitt takes less than 2 hours!  Bring size 5 or 6 double pointed needles.
Wednesday, January 20
1:00 - 3:00 PM with Eileen
Offering Mitts and others
fingerless mitts
Eileen had so many knitters who wanted to work on the Fetching mitts (another top 5 Ravelry favorite), that we needed to continue holding this class after the new year.  But for those who got the mitts done already, she is adding a new lace gauntlet called Offering Mitts.
 Offering Mitts
These Offering Mitts are lovely.  Knit in fingering weight yarn- a dyed solid color would look as good as natural does shown here. Bring double points for either project- size 5 for the fetching, size 1 for the offering mitts.  Yarn available at the Shop.
Thursday, January 21
10:00 - 12:00 PM with JoAnne
5 hearts cloth
This week we will create some valentines for that special someone.  This cloth is an easy one for some light and relaxing knitting.  Bring size 7 needles.  Yarn will be provided.
Friday January 22
10:00 - 12:00 PM with Steph
General Knitting and New Cowls
Spiral Cowl
Steph will guide you through some new Spring weight cowls like the one shown here.  If you prefer, you can work on whatever general knitting project you wish.  Steph will help you through it.
Friday, January 22
1:00 - 3:00 PM with Pat
Sue the Ewe
It is time for Sam the Ram- Sue the Ewe is getting lonely.  Sam can be knitted with several weights of yarn.  Your choice.
Many more classes will be coming in the upcoming weeks- we have lots and lots of ideas
The January Challenge- We are reaching new heights!
We are on our way to 300 hats!  Right now we have 190, and I know we will hit 200 today, so I feel safe to say we are on our way to 300.  We have all be amazed at the generosity of all of our knitters.
For every additional 100 hats- I will add another prize. So we are up to 3 prizes now- a ball winder, a Lantern Moon tote, and an Afghan Kit.
I was able to nab even MORE Encore Mega- which seems to be the yarn of choice for these hats.  I will have another pattern  available at the shop tomorrow for the Mega.
Here you will find a new hat pattern for Comfort- a very soft worsted weight acrylic/nylon blend that will make a wonderful hat and is on sale this week!  The pattern will also work for Ella Rae Superwash- on sale at 40% off while it lasts.
Remember-as an added incentive- for every hat brought in- we will add your name to a drawing for 3 prizes to be awarded at the end of January.
Only 1 rule:  To get your name into the drawing- please use yarn from the Knitter's Edge.  We will accept hats knitted in other yarns- as the need for these items goes far beyond our need to sell yarn, but we feel it is fair to restrict the prizes to our customers.  We will have lots of yarns available at low to bargain prices so this will not be a hardship for anyone.
