This shawl uses very basic stitches in a creative way to make a simple but elegant design. It is recommended that you have some experience with crochet, but you certainly don’t need to be an expert by any means!

Melanie will be available live and in person at the shop to help you through the pattern as you craft your new favorite fall and winter wearable. To participate in person, you must purchase the PDF of the pattern by visiting Counting Crafty Sheep on Ravelry,
or purchase the pattern at The Knitter’s Edge.
Recommended yarn for the project is Galway Sport wool. This yarn and other choices in historically appropriate fibers are available on site at The Knitter’s Edge and can be purchased when you arrive. Just bring your hook, and printed copy of your pattern, and any additional notions you like to work with.

Build your own Ripple Blanket with Becky

This design-your-own ripple blanket will commence on Nov 7 during the crochet class.
Becky has come up with four basic ripple recipes, with instructions and examples for each. Each student should come to class with an idea of what yarn they would like to use and appropriate hook(s). In the first session, we would review the patterns (they are all easy) and hand out the instructions for swatches. After a week or two, each student should return with a swatch she likes and a target size for a blanket/afghan. We’d use the swatch to calculate yarn amounts and go from there. The project would be finished at their convenience.  Call to sign up.
