Its almost the holidays!

I featured this Koko Bean Hat last week.  Now we have it knit at the shop.  Perfect for this Holiday season and beyond.  FREE Pattern.  We knit it up with just one hank of Worsted Merino Superwash.  Come try it on.

It’s the time of year again to think about Holiday gift knitting and crochet.  For the next 12 weeks we will offer up some great gift ideas for everyone on your list.

Week 2  Crochet Cabled Hat

This FREE hat pattern needs just 1–100g ball of Encore Tweed.  You can also use Encore, or Galway as shown below.  The Encore Tweed makes it a perfect men’s size while the Galway (being a bit thinner) makes the hat more of a ladies’ size.

Encore Tweed comes in many colors- all with natural colored nep providing the Tweedy look.
Encore Tweed can also make a great pair of knit Men’s fingerless gloves!  FREE Pattern takes just one ball of Encore Tweed.

Our Exclusive Hooded Scarf patterns needs just 3 balls of Encore Tweed.  FREE Pattern at the Knitter’s Edge.  This is a great pattern for Beginning Knitters.

Our Cabled Crochet Hat looks just as great when crocheted in Galway Worsted.  Just one ball needed.

Unchained Melody Hat– FREE pattern until Nov 1.
Knit it in 2 colors of Galway Worsted.  Great time to practice your 2 handed Fair Isle technique (we got a class for that!)

This is Cool!

I love things in our craft with a history.  So I had to share a photo of this. One of our customers brought this crochet hook in to show us.  It belonged to her Grandmother. Perhaps about 100 years old.
Definitely well used.

Ravelry Inspiration

A lovely easy to knit cardigan for Autumn.  Simple lines in front and terrific accent in the back.  Knit it in a DK weight yarn such as DK Merino Superwash.

Beautiful cables down the back.  Check out the ravelry page for Marquette Cardigan to see more photos.

Diddy Hedgehog

What a cutie to crochet.  FREE Pattern.  Work it up with leftover yarn or use Encore– Pat’s go to yarn for toys.

What an absolutely lovely shawl.  We suggest knitting it in
Mad Hatter- a beautiful DK weight superwash merino.
Nuna- a bamboo and silk containing merino, would also look wonderful- providing even more drape and shine.

The Dog Ate My Homework

When you need a great handknit sweater for that very special grandchild- consider this one.   We suggest knitting it in Madelinetosh Sport or Dk for the best colors.  Machine washable & dryable too.  Sized from Newborn to Age 10.
