What’s New!

Natural Bebe

A worsted weight slightly textured yarn that is so easy to knit. This mostly acrylic fiber is blended with cotton and bamboo to make it so soft to the touch.  Non wool- perfect for babies as well as anyone who loves softness (and who doesn’t). Check out some of the great patterns for Natural Bebe

The Sun Kissed Calico Cowl

We took one ball of our new Sun Kissed Speckle and paired it with 2 partial balls of Calico in coordinating colorways to make a striped cowl.  Shown here as 48″, you can make it longer as well using all of the yarn.  Kits available- and Jen helped to pick the color combos.

Shawl has 15 lace sections. 4 hanks of Silky wool or 700 yards of another Dk weight yarn is needed.  Bring a highlighter to mark the pattern, and size 5 and 6 needles.

Weaving is Back!!

Monday June 11 (12:30 – 4pm), & June 18 (1- 4pm)  

Weaving 101- our beginning weaving class

Using our 15″ Cricket Rigid Heddle Looms, discover the fun of weaving your own scarf.  We will be using Galway Worsted weight wool. 
Cost of class is $85 which includes 6.5 hours of instruction, yarn for scarf, loan of loom for the week between classes, and all handouts.
Cricket looms are also for sale.  Take $20 off the cost of a loom by taking this class.

Our Annual Charity Retreat

8th Annual TKE Retreat Day for Charity
When: Monday, May 14, 2018 10am-3pm
Where: St Francis Center for Renewal is located at:
395 Bridle Path Road

Bethlehem, PA 18017.

The St. Francis Center for Renewal on Bridle Path Road in Bethlehem will be hosting again. We will have a morning of knitting, learning, and chatting; followed by a wonderful lunch and an afternoon of knitting with reflection. To make our project work easier, The Knitter’s Edge will provide kits and patterns both for knitters and crocheters. This year we will be knitting ladies socks for distribution at local shelters, and knitting and crocheting chemocaps for St Luke’s Oncology. 
Looking forward to a wonderful day together!

Materials to bring:

Range of needles & hooks is best, plus
seaming needle, scissors, stitch markers, tape measure.
For Knit Socks:
Double points size US 4 or two sets of 24″ circs size US 4, or one long circ for Magic loop- size US 4.
Straight OR circular needles size 6, 7 & 8, plus stitch holders. 
For Knit Chemo Hat: 16″ circulars size 6, plus size 6 double points.

Crocheters: Size G & H hooks.

Directions: From Rte 22, go south on Rte 512 (Center St) for less than 1 mile. Turn right onto Bridle Path Rd. After going over the Monocacy Creek, turn left into the Renewal Center. The Renewal Center Building is the 2nd building on the left (building is labeled). You may drive in front to drop people off but should park in lot across the drive from the center. There are signs that say “Reserved for Renewal Center”.
