Our First Crochet- A- Long

May 1- Our Skill-Builder CAL Begins

Edie Eckman’s Amazing Crochet- A- Long on Ravelry will be complete next week. 12 beautiful crochet afghan squares!

On May 1, Becky will take up this CAL project at TKE in a new on-going Wednesday afternoon class. Edie will be Skyping us to check on our CAL’s progress. She’s as excited as we are!

Please take a serious look at Edie’s Skill Builder Crochet Blanket Ravelry page and consider purchasing the pattern for this CAL now before the price goes up. Yarn used for both afghan sizes is Encore Worsted- with over 100 colors to choose from! Increase your skill level, one afghan square at a time.

New Beginner’s Class Coming Soon

Starting Saturday April 6, Becky’s Saturday afternoon class will become

a beginner’s class- both knit & crochet, with a focus on techniques as well.

Another New Beginner’s Class!

Tuesdays | 4- 6pm beg. April 2.

A weekday beginners class with a new teacher- Regina. She’s been a regular here at the Edge for quite some time and teaches knitting to a loyal fan base near her home. We are very fortunate to have Regina joining us at TKE to teach beginning knitting.

This will be a class with a theme- “Washcloths are a Great Way to Learn”. Using 100% cotton, Regina will help you work your way through many techniques- learning new knitting skills -one cloth at a time. For the first few months, after you have knit 4 cloths (one per class) you will get a FREE hank of Fantasy Naturale Cotton. Knit another 4 cloths (one per class), and get another hank of cotton FREE. This is going to be a fun way to learn.

Our 9th Annual Retreat Day will be held on Monday, May 13, from 10am-3pm. The St. Francis Center for Renewal will be hosting again.

We will have a morning of knitting, crocheting, learning, and chatting followed by a wonderful lunch and an afternoon of crafting with reflection. The Knitter’s Edge will provide yarn and patterns both for knitters and crocheters.

This year we will be knitting and crocheting Toddler Vests and Hats to be donated through Nurse Family Partnership. We will be taking sign ups beginning Monday, March 18.

Cost is $20.00- cash or checks written to St Francis Center for Renewal.

If mailing in a check: Make sure you include your name, phone number and email address.

Learn all about cables while trying a half dozen beautiful ones. This sampler cowl is knit in 2 hanks Tosh DK. You can also use Worsted Merino Superwash. Bring needles, size 7 or those needed to get gauge of 5 sts =1″. Pattern provided in class. Sign up now.

My First Socks with Becky
