TNNA Report

Amanda & I just returned from TNNA- our yarn industry’s annual trade show.
Long hard days of looking at yarns and accessories for the shop- but fun days full of inspiration. We ordered lots of new yarn goodies and brought some stuff back with us too. Watch for some new toys later this week! Here are just a few of the highlights:
A bunch of new Atenti bags, new styles and new prints.
Several came back with us too!
A new Vendor- Emma’s Yarns. Beautiful handdyed colorways by 2 sisters who grew up in a yarn shop. They get it! They understand what we need, and what you need.
The Malabrigo booth is always a blast to visit and we dropped some serious coinage here. So many colors…..
I can’t wait for this one to arrive!!!
From Sirdar: 50 colors of 100% cotton in mini balls. Patterns galore for small toys & we will come up with some other ideas too! Gonna be fun!
For you cat lovers out there- a felted cat bed. We fell in love with it immediately. Sure your cats will too.

Its Summer Project Time
Monday July 1 | 1-3pm with Julia
Summer is a great time to work on a larger sweater or shawl project. So if you have one started or want to begin a perfect summer garment- Join Julia on July 1. Julia has lots of warm weather knitting ideas, such as Julia’s own design: Storm Chasing.

NightShift, & The Shift with Julia
Summer Mon & Wed Mornings 10-12pm
Join Julia to knit up your “one of a kind” Nightshift shawl or Shift cowl. We will have several samples to show and so many colors of yarn to choose from. If you can’t make Julia’s class- join in almost any other class to work on your shawl. This is a shop wide project! We are all joining in!
Soldotna Crop with Julia
Summer Mon & Wed Mornings 10-12pm
Knit in Silky Wool, this adorable crop top is so fashionable these days. Julia will lead you through the Fair Isle work in this fine design. During the Summer, come to Julia’s Monday &/or Wednesday morning classes for additional work on the Soldotna Crop or Navelli.

Another cropped Fair Isle Top- this one knit in a fingering weight yarn such as Breathless. Julia will lead you through this design if you choose, during any Monday or Wednesday morning summer class, plus Monday July 1 | 1-3pm.
New Beginner’s Class
Tuesdays 3:30 – 5:30 with Regina
Regina’s class is working on hats in the round right now, and soon will be taking on a baby sweater in pieces where they will learn increases, decreases. and most importantly seaming! Please call to sign up.
Horizonte – NEW CLASS in July
Mondays 10-12pm & 1-3pm
Fridays 10-12pm & 1-3pm w/ Debra
Debra’s design for a textured poncho in one of our favorite yarns: Silky Wool. This easy knit provides variety for the knitter as it progresses upward. Call to sign up- come to any of Debra’s classes throughout the week. Begins Monday July 1.
Beginner & Intermediate Class- Knit & Crochet
Saturdays 1-3pm with Becky
Becky’s Saturday afternoon class has become a beginner-intermediate class- both knit & crochet, with a strong focus on techniques. ALL LEVELS ARE WELCOME.

Join Becky to take up Edie Eckman’s Skill Builder CAL project.

Needlefelting– NEW Class time
Saturday June 29 | 1-3pm with Lauren.
Needlefelting is fun- you all know that by now. First timers can make something great- like this Cactus or Bluebird!
