What’s a SSP?

Years ago I “un-vented” * a special decrease to use when I needed a pairing for an SSK.  I called it p2togtbl. Today this is becoming known as SSP.
*un-vented:  From Elizabeth Zimmermann: “One un-vents something; one unearths it; one digs it up, one runs it down in whatever recesses of the eternal consciousness it has gone to ground. I very much doubt if anything is really new when one works in the prehistoric medium of wool with needles.”

  • SSP
  • Step 1: On the wrong side of your fabric, slip the first stitch of the decrease to the right hand needle knitwise.
  • Step 2: Slip the second stitch of the decrease to the right hand needle knitwise.
  • Step 3: Place both slipped stitches back onto the left hand needle.
  • Step 4: Purl both stitches together through the back loop.
