Produce Bags

In the past few years, there has been a global movement towards the phase-out of single use plastic bags. In our own local towns, grocery stores are considering alternate reusable bags. With this ecco friendly concept in mind- we announce our new Cotton produce bag kits. Each kit contains enough Anne, a 100% fingering weight cotton, to make one bag along with a knit and a crochet pattern. Later this week, you will see 2 additional bag patterns for our mini balls of Anne as well as for our full size hanks of this lovely Brazilian cotton. Each mini ball contains 71 yards of cotton. Many colors available.
Each 100g hank of Anne contains 371 yards. This yarn is spun by the makers of Fantasy Naturale- a real shop favorite. Just one hank will make several produce bags- a definite bargain.
Here is an easy to crochet produce bag that takes such a short time to create. A great alternative at the food market.

Playground by Lori Versaci

We were lucky enough to be part of a recent test knit for an absolutely adorable hooded cardigan called Playground. A deeply textured stitch pattern creates a warm fabric. Lori’s newest pattern is written for sizes 6 months to 12 years.
Playground– in the 18 months size fits Thea well, with a bit of room to grow.

We used 3 hanks of Joe Cole’s What The Flock Flocking DK sparkle for the test knit. For an accent, we used Worsted Merino Superwash as trim.
WTF DK is available in many colorways at The Knitter’s Edge including the 3 shown here. Other DK weight yarns such as Tosh DK, or DK Merino Superwash are great alternatives.

Yes, Yes! It’s Crochet Time!

This beautiful crocheted shawl is called Yes Yes Shawl– a FREE Pattern for a DK weight yarn. We chose 5 colors in Baby Bamboo for this project. You can join Becky on Wednesday afternoons or Saturday afternoons to crochet this beauty.
Yes Yes Shawl takes 564 yards or less than 5 balls of Baby Bamboo. We chose 5 coordinating colors and it worked out very well.
Baby Bamboo is a super soft 80% bamboo/20% wool blend. We carry it in many colors.
