Working with Handdyed Yarns

Working with handpaints,  any handpaints, can be an exciting knit or crochet experience.   At The Knitter’s Edge we try our best to always remind our customers how to properly work with handpaints.   We suggest the following:
1.  If working with a combo of very dark and very light colors, make a small swatch first and test wash it.  Dark or saturated colors can sometimes bleed to release excess dye.  Don’t let it ruin a great project.  See us for remedies if your test swatch shows bleeding upon washing.
2.  If using more than one skein of a colorway in your project- alternate skeins every 2-4 rows to prevent both pooling and striping due to color variations.  Remember that these yarns are handdyed- no two are exactly the same.
3. At The Knitter’s Edge we pride ourselves on having a knowledgeable sales staff to help you in yarn selection and throughout the creation of your project.  We won’t let you down.  We are here for you- just ask.
